Ceñido a los años 354–388 de la biografía, el autor considera este breve espacio determinante para el quehacer pastoral del gran Padre y Doctor de la Iglesia, cuya iniciación bíblica arranca de santa Mónica y culmina con la patrística. Hay también aquí sobrio y preciso manejo de fuentes, al hilo casi siemprede las Confesiones. El artículo resulta imprescindible para comprender el futuro papel teológico-patrístico del Hiponense en controversias, oratoria, liturgia,recurso a la Sagrada Escritura y su extensa producción literaria. Retórico de cuerpo entero, concepto y forma fueron en él siempre de la mano Two essential arguments of Saint Augustine are confronted in this paper: humanistic and biblical formation, both harmonic and complementary. Concerning the years 354–388 of the biography, the author considers this brief decisive space for the pastoral work of the great Father and Doctor of the Church, whose biblical initiation begins with Saint Monica and culminates in the patristic period. There is also here sober and precise handling of sources, almost always in line with the Confessions. The article is essential to understand the future theological-patristic role of the Hiponian in controversies, oratory, liturgy, recourse to Sacred Scripture and his extensive literary production. Full-length rhetoric, concept and form always went hand in hand with him. |
