Description
Summary:Discussions on Christian mission, the whence and where of it, are nothing new. They have been going on for decades. New terms have been created, catch-words given currency and predictions made about the impending demise of the whole missionary enterprise. This particular Bulletin in the past carried several articles which are quite enlightening so that some one might question the need for another piece on Christian Mission. The only difference this essay claims is that it comes from the perspective of one of the “missioned” rather than the “missioner” as it often comes to us. Also some of the new dynamism of what is often called the “third world” pro vides the context for some of the reflections, affirmations and conclusions. This essay will state some basic convictions, reflect on the fundamental Christological question and illustrate the need to understand the context of mission.
