| Summary: | Damanhur is a New Age community located in the Chiusella Valley in Italy. It is the center of an international movement. Its founder, Oberto Airaudi, who passed away in 2013, produced a distinctive form of art based on the spiral form. The article explores Airaudi’s artistic career as a painter and the role of art in the Damanhur community and movement. It suggests that, besides being works of art sold to collectors, these paintings are religious artifacts, whose main purpose is to generate, with the cooperation of their viewers and the community of Damanhur, powerful energies working for the benefit of the whole planet. |
