Description
Summary:The apeo was one of the most effective documentary types for the control of monastic heritages during the Modern Age. These property inventories are revealed as a very rich source of information for different fields of knowledge, such as religious economy, toponymy, rural geography, agricultural exploitation or surface measurements. This paper presents a study of the demarcation file, from an administrative and archival perspective. Documents from the archive of the benedictine monastery of Santa María de Carbajal (León) have been used for this purpose.
