| 總結: | As Pope John Paul II, in the run-up to the Jubilee Year 2000, had increased the number of requests for forgiveness for past sins committed by members of the Church, the task was to establish the theological truth of these steps of repentance. Neither the Bible nor Tradition could provide much support for what was a truly new undertaking. A distinction had to be made, firstly, between the holiness of the Church and holiness in the Church, and secondly, between the non-transferable guilt of individuals and the inherited responsibility of a community in solidarity, which encourages reparation and reconciliation. The anachronism of historical judgment must be carefully avoided. The purification of memory, which is described here in relation to four specific cases, must also serve as a sentinel for the present and the future of the Church. Comme le pape Jean-Paul II aux approches du jubilé de l'an 2000 avait multiplié les demandes de pardon pour les fautes commises dans le passé par des membres de l'Église, il s'est agi d'établir la vérité théologique de ces démarches de repentance. Or, ni la Bible, ni la Tradition ne pouvaient apporter beaucoup d'appuis à ce qui était une entreprise vraiment nouvelle. Il fallait distinguer d'abord entre la sainteté de l'Église et la sainteté dans l'Église, ensuite, entre la culpabilité intransmissible des personnes et la responsabilité héritée d'une collectivité solidaire qui l'incite à la réparation et à la réconciliation. L'anachronisme du jugement historique doit être prévenu avec soin. La purification de la mémoire, déclinée ici pour quatre dossiers spécifiques, doit en outre se poser en vigie pour le présent et l'avenir de l'Église. |
