Description
Summary:Defines theopathology as the knowledge regarding a believer's concept of God which meets the criteria for a personality disorder as presented in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-III-R) and in accordance with the personality theory of Theodore Millon. Claims that as the believer attempts to adapt to the psychopathological behavior of his or her God concept, maladaptive behavior results. Notes that assessing the condition entails discovering which personality disorders the believer's God concept meet. Suggests that intervention involves developing a behavior modification plan in which the believer learns a new and healthier God concept which will eliminate maladaptive behavior and provide a healthier relationship between the believer and his or her God.
