Resumo:Assesses the effects the elimination of a pastoral care training program and a reduction in staff had on referral rates for pastoral care. Results showed a decrease in referrals initiated by pastoral care staff but an increase in pastoral care referrals initiated by medical staff and patients. Notes that when pastoral care staff were less available, the demand for their services became more apparent.
