Описание
Итог:The New Age movement is attracting much interest in our society and the reaction is often that of confusion or fear. This article provides a broad but concise overview of the movement by firstly, establishing a framework of understanding and secondly, outlining a constructed ideal-type South African New Ager. The framework is characterised by four distinctive vertical streams that have fed into the movement and four horizontal levels of interest and commitment that are discovered within the movement. This framework brings some order to the seemingly contradictory data on the movement. The ideal-type New Ager is constructed by focusing on the vision of the New Age, and the beliefs, characteristics and activities of selected followers.
