Description
Summary:This is a review of Anne Frank Remembered, a new documentary written, produced, and directed by Jon Blair, who created the British Academy Award-winning documentary Schindler. This review puts the Anne Frank symbol into the context of its use in Dutch postwar society and discusses some of the problems with various uses of the Anne Frank legacy. The review also includes some of the director's thoughts on his second documentary confrontation with the Holocaust, based on an interview with Mr. Blair following the first showing of Anne Frank Remembered in the United States. The review concludes with a detailed analysis of the film in comparison with some previous treatments of Anne Frank's life.
