Summary: | Section 1 describes the reciprocal relationship between the Corona virus and liturgy, and the emerging picture which contains a variety of elements ranging from a shut-down to a new start. In Section 2 the author goes back to the theology of the liturgy contained in Vatican II's Constitution on the liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium, to develop a set of criteria (2.1) by which to assess the events of the past eighteen months for what they tell us about liturgical life during the pandemic (2.2) and produce a prognosis for the future. |
