Summary: | This article provides an overview of the collections in the Associated Archives at St. Mary's Seminary and University, a new archives program jointly funded by the Archdiocese of Baltimore, St. Mary's Seminary and University, and the U.S. Province of the Society of St. Sulpice together with a brief history of the three archival programs. Despite the distinct nature of the three collections, representing the records of a diocese, a seminary, and a religious community, bringing them together has made the Associated Archives one of the most significant repositories for records relating to the history of the Catholic Church in the United States. This synergy can be attributed to the long and shared history of the three organizations that dates back to the founding period of the U.S. Catholic Church. |
