| Summary: | Crabb has provided us with a good discussion of the implications of the central importance of the authority of Scripture for an evangelical Christian perspective of psychology. However a careful distinction must be made between the authority of the Scripture itself and of conclusions based on Scripture. Otherwise, the unity of revelation may be sacrificed. The closer our conclusions are to the revelational data and the more data they explain, the more authoritative they will be. An alternative model is illustrated with apparently contradictory conclusions about spanking of children. |
