Summary: | In continuation of the Jewish tradition, Paul preaches an imageless proclamation of God in a world full of images of gods. The article illuminates the existential significance of viewing Christ as the »image« of God in Paul's proclamation. In addition, it is shown that Paul's theological message is also essentially based on the power of images in the form of language images (metaphors) in correlation to this process of viewing Christ. |
