| Summary: | O rol da décima das igrejas paroquiais portuguesas de 1320 fornece um panorama das devoções mais institucionais na região a sul do Tejo, nos finais da fase colonial da sua organização. A estrutura do documento constrange-nos a interpretar social e institucionalmente as devoções e encarar a religiosidade enquanto elemento das identidades locais e sociais. Com base na análise estatística dos 200 padroados celestes identificados (estreiteza do leque hagionímico, monopólio da espiritualidade marial, importância das referências evangélicas, universalidade dos patronos até raros na região), mormente na sua repartição geográfica, tenta-se a identificação dos mecanismos sócio-culturais; dentro dos quais, parecem-me fulcrais o conformismo espiritual e o desejo de coesão cívica. As tendências particularizantes e comunitarizantes, devidas à diversidade cultural e sócio-espacial das populações (indígenas muçulmanos, moçárabes neo-cristãos, colonos portugueses e estrangeiros // elites de milites das sedes dos concelhos mais antigos, residentes nas «aldeias») e às estratégias devocionais individuais das camas senhoriais e eclesiásticas, estão para buscar nos títulos dos templos menores, que precisamente faltam no documento. The roll of decima of portuguese parish churches gives us a panorama of the most institutional devotions in the south of the Tage river, at the end of the colonial period of its organisation. The structure of the document compels us to make a social interpretation of the devotions and to see the religiosity as an element of local and social identities. From statistic analysis of the two hundred celestial identified patronages (narrowness of the hagionymic palette, crushing monopoly of marian devotion, domination of evangelical references, universality of even uncommon patrons), we try to enhace sociocultural mecanisms, from their geographic repartition; among them, the spiritual conformism and the wish of civic cohesion seem essential to me. The tendency of specific characteristics and community behaviours, linked with cultural and sociospatial diversity of the populations (native muslims, mozarabs and neo-christians, portuguese and foreigners colons // knights’ élites of the capital cities of the concelhos, inhabitants of the subordinate villages) and with spiritual strategies of the seigniorial and ecclesiastical élites, have to be searched in the titles of the chapells, which precisely are not registered in our document. |
