| Summary: | El artículo pone atención en los procesos de transferencia textual entre el latín y las lenguas vulgares, destacando el potencial intrínseco que el estudio de estas traducciones aporta tanto al macrocontexto histórico, social y doctrinal, como a las motivaciones individuales, sea en el contexto de producción que de destino. Para ejemplificar este proceso, se propone la síntesis del trabajo realizado en las traducciones al francés de la Legenda Sanctae Clarae y en el fuerte vínculo de éstas con la Vie de la vienheureuse Isabelle, la beata Isabel de Francia. La obra se divide en tres pasajes fundamentales: las herramientas disponibles para la revisión de manuscritos en lengua vernácula; el método para clasificar los manuscritos en familias; la investigación que permite descubrir el lugar de producción de la empresa de la primera traducción, entender sus problemáticas y estudiar las diferencias y los añadidos que estas problemáticas han aportado. El potencial del estudio de las traducciones es múltiple: desde la oportunidad de completar o comprender mejor un stemma codicum latino, hasta la posibilidad de llegar al autor de la traducción., This article looks at the processes of textual transference between Latin and the vernacular languages, highlighting the intrinsic potential of the study of these translations in terms both of the historical, social and doctrinal macro-context and of individual motivations regarding their addressees as well as producing them. By way of example, a synthesis is proposed of the work done on French translations of the Legenda Sanctae Clarae, showing their close conecction with the Vie de la bienheureuse Isabelle, the Life of Blessed Isabelle of France. This study proceeds, fundamentally, in three stages, as it considers: the tools available for reviewing the manuscripts in the vernacular; the method of classifying the manuscripts in terms of "families"; the research that makes it possible to discover the place where the first translation was undertaken, to understand the problems faced in the process of translation, and to study the variances and additions due to such problems. There are multiple potential benefits in such study of the translations; these range from opportunities to complete, or better understand, a Latin stemma codicum to the possibility of identifying the author of a given translation. |
