總結:This study evaluates the relationship between political engagement and religious interest in British society. The paper examines this relationship through the lens of the general election campaign in December 2019 in which religious leaders, religious identity, and religious intolerance were part of the assessment of electability in relation to parties and their leaders. Analyzing specific interventions of the Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis and the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby it is asked whether 2019’s UK general election evidences the continuing role of senior religious leaders within political debate and whether this is continuous with a particular form of religious establishment.
