Description
Summary:The development of a model and related instrument to define and predict executive and entrepreneurial effectiveness has been the focus of much research. The managerial typing scheme is a bi-product of such a research program The original scope of work was to develop an instrument to measure entrepreneurial and executive effectiveness to be used as a personal and organizational development tool. The research was directed by Dr. Edward J. Fasiska during his tenure as Vice President of Operations at Carnegie Mellon Research Institute, the industrial research arm of Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh. The “EQ” (Entrepreneurial/Executive Quotient) model was developed through interactive research with populations of entrepreneurs and executives who were sponsoring new product development programs for commercialization. This environment provided a unique atmosphere to monitor decision-making patterns and operational styles of a varied cross section of entrepreneurs and executives in their managerial environments.
