| Summary: | In the course of its recent development, the young 'Comparative Theology' is bound to further delineate its nature, aims and methods. It takes advantage of a revival of the comparative method in the History of religions. It has to find its place in relation to the Theology of religions. And it finds itself challenged by recent projects of meta-confessional, trans-religious theologies. This paper surveys some of the trends and debates of the last ten or fifteen years, particularly in the English-speaking world, and highlights new queries. Dans son essor, la jeune discipline de la «théologie comparative» est amenée à préciser sa nature, ses objectifs et ses méthodes. Elle bénéficie d’une timide redécouverte de la méthode comparative en histoire des religions. Elle tente de se définir face aux théologies des religions. Elle se trouve enfin concurrencée par des projets de théologies trans-religieuses sans ancrage confessionnel. Cet article propose un panorama de courants apparus au cours des dix ou quinze dernières années, en particulier dans le domaine anglophone, et met en relief les interrogations nouvelles qu’ils soulèvent |
