Description
Summary:An unusual term to describe an entity in Australia, the name "Antigonish" relates to a town in the maritime province of Nova Scotia on Canada's eastern seaboard. A process came about there that was quite unique in that it used the ability of several clever people to change the dynamics of a socio-economic system that desperately needed change for the common good. What happened there inspired some Australians to introduce the process in parts of New South Wales in the 1950s to overcome poverty and/or economic hardship. This was seen to be present in the postwar years in some Catholic parishes, particularly in Sydney's west. The movement took root and became quite successful.
