Les commissaires ont formulé vingt et une recommandations; la Australian Conference of Catholic Bishops les a toutes acceptées, sauf une concernant le sceau de la confession. Les recommandations concernant le droit universel ont été transmises au Saint-Siège, qui a répondu le 26 février 2020. L’auteur explique les origines des recommandations et commente les réponses du Saint-Siège à chaque recommandation. The final report of the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in 2017 commented on the lack of responsibility, transparency, and accountability within the Catholic Church’s practices and law. The Commissioners made twenty-one recommendations; the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference accepted all of them, except one concerning the seal of confession. The recommendations concerning universal law were forwarded to the Holy See, which responded on 26 February 2020.
