Description
Summary:Sociology has long reflected upon the centrality of money (Simmel, Weber, Sombart, Parsons, Luhmann, Bauman) both to analyze its importance in the construction of a modern socioeconomic system, and to highlight its risks generated by the movement of people and of the other institutions at the margins of society. In this article, the author wants to point out the increasing concern about this predominance of the money logic and the commitment of the Catholic Church to deal with this topic and suggest a way out. The ethics of respect is a reflective action to recenter the individual and the non-economic social institutions.
