Description
Summary:Starting with how the religious landscape in the western world is presently undergoing dramatic changes, and with how people today seek subjective expressions for spiritual longing, the author discusses the potential for openness, change and movement that a Lutheran church has in order to remain relevant. The article draws its inspiration from the young Luther who, on the basis of his notion of the righteousness of faith, dared to break with tradition in his understanding of the church. The author argues that the church should demonstrate solidarity with contemporary man - an understanding of the church that accommodates more than its own tradition: a church that dares to seek openness, is prepared to change and to be in movement.
