Description
Summary:Leading scholars of Modern Hebrew have formulated various descriptions of its derivational apparatus. Analyzing the components of these descriptions, their standpoints, and the linguistic approaches underlying them, the present study abstracts criteria for characterization of Modern Hebrew word formation and for the understanding of the theoretical relationships between these criteria. They are then selected and integrated into a model tested on typical and atypical cases of Modern Hebrew derivation.
