| Summary: | This paper examines how the writer of the biblical book of Ecclesiastes succeeds in conveying ideas and evoking experiences by effectively matching elements of literary form to thematic substance. The investigation identifies the artistic and ideational refinement and consistency of the biblical writer by demonstrating the interrelated aspects of style and content in the opening passage of the Ecclesiastes. The researcher further stresses that we need to be mindful of the many ways that the ancient artists/sages employ particular literary expressions in the service of their message. |
