Il can. 877 § 1 stabilisce il principio generale per cui la responsabilità della registrazione del battesimo ricade sul parroco del luogo dove viene celebrato fissando, nel contempo, quei dati essenziali che devono essere annotati: nome del battezzato, del ministro, dei genitori, dei padrini e, se vi sono, dei testimoni; quindi giorno e luogo della nascita e della celebrazione del battesimo. The juridical effects of baptism are the reason why over the centuries the Church has insisted on the importance of its registration. Canon 877 § 1 establishes the general principle that the responsibility for registering baptism lies with the parish priest of the place where it is celebrated, while at the same time establishing the essential data that must be recorded. It includes the name of the baptised person, the minister, the parents, the godparents and, if there are any, the witnesses; then the day and place of birth and the celebration of baptism. |
