Summary:Recently the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has dealt with some cases of administration of the sacrament of Baptism in which the sacramental formula established by the Church in the liturgical books has been arbitrarily modified. For this reason, the Dicastery has prepared “Answers to proposed questions,” with its “Doctrinal Note” which explains its content, to recall the doctrine about the validity of the sacraments connected to the form established by the Church with the use of approved sacramental formulas, in order to remove the issue from deviant interpretations and practices and offer a clear orientation.
