| Summary: | This paper discusses the difficult relationship between exegesis and popular reading of the Bible and how the issue has been treated in Latin America, particularly in the work of Carlos Mesters, an exegete devoted to the biblical pastoral work in Brazil. The article also displays some of the principles that oriented the work of the exegetes in Latin America with the people and some problems with their hermeneutic model. The most recent tendencies in the pastoral work with the Bible in Brazil are briefly presented and a plea is made for a new effort to bridge the gap between the academic world and popular reading. L’articolo discute il difficile rapporto fra esegesi e lettura popolare della Bibbia e come esso fu trattato nell’esperienza latinoamericana, soprattutto nel lavoro di Carlos Mesters, un biblista dedicato alla pastorale biblica brasiliana. L’articolo presenta pure alcuni dei principi che hanno ispirato il lavoro dei biblisti latinoamericani con la gente e alcuni problemi del loro modello ermeneutico. Infine, si presenta la tendenza più recente nel lavoro pastorale con la Bibbia in Brasile e si propone un nuovo sforzo per costruire dei ponti fra il mondo accademico e quello della lettura popolare. |
