Description
Summary:For the identification of the Essene community of Khirbet Qumrân and for the study of the history of Essenes, it is of interest to know if the burial practices bring some new information on one hand, and on the other hand if those burial practices agree or disagree with the presentation of their belief in the afterlife according to what is known from the manuscripts and the ancient authors. This note tries to answer these questions by showing that the burial practices in the cemeteries do agree with what is known about the Essenes from external and internal data.
