Summary: | Although the absolute number of chipped stone artifacts recovered during the surveys in the Umm ad-Danānīr region of the Baqʿah Valley was small, analysis of the material from typological, technological, and physical condition aspects suggests that they represent a wide range of time. Human exploitation of the Baqʿah Valley began not later than the Middle Palaeolithic period and appears to have been continuous, if only temporary, through the succeeding Upper Palaeolithic, Epipalaeolithic, Neolithic, and Chalcolithic / Early Bronze Age times. |
