Description
Summary:A very small pontifical community of woman raises questions while doing something similar to estate planning in order to be good stewards into the future. They are using principles of conservation easement regarding the properties they own. For example, they own some acres of farm land and have places these in an agricultural acreage along with woods, waterways and wetlands into an easement. A non-profit land preservation organization in the local area will act as trustees of this in the future. The religious community seeks suggestions for taking care if the community cemetery which is located on land which also houses, at present, a Catholic college (sponsored but not owned by the religious community). The religious community owns all the land including the conservation easement part except for about 30 acres owned by the college upon which it is located. When there are no more Sisters in the religious community, what can be done about disposition of/ planning for the cemetery property which is in the middle of a large acreage? All public cemeteries in the particular state must have on-going specific provision for the care for the land.
