Mediante un'analisi trasversale dei 10 tomi delle agende, preceduta da una esamina del materiale pubblicato, si vuole interpretare il pensiero e l'azione di Roncalli negli eventi di cui fu spettatore e protagonista. Infine, il testo si sofferma particolarmente sulle questioni legate alla storia della Curia romana del Novecento, oltrepassando i più stereotipati cliché storiografici. Rimangono aperte alcune domande relative alla significatività delle agende, ai criteri editoriali impiegati e alla parzialità di alcune ricostruzioni storiografiche. The diaries of Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli — Pope John XXIII — are a rarity in the history of the popes, a true unicum. These precious documents allow the reader to grow closer to the personality of the man and to enter into the great issuesof his time, from a particular, and most significant, point of view. Beginning with a study of the published material, followed by a cross-sectional analysis of the ten volumes of the diaries, the reader will be presented an interpretation of Roncalli's thought and action in those events in which he was both spectator and protagonist. Finally, the text focuses on questions related to the history of the Roman Curia in the twentieth century, going beyond the cliché historical stereotypes. Several questions remain open, regarding the true significance of the diaries, the editorial criteria employeed and the bias of some historical reconstructions. |
