Description
Summary:The first part of the article has exposed the first three points of the final chapter of Blondel's L'action. The reading of the chapter is continued here. Philosophy seeks unity, as Leibniz's vinculum testifies. This doctrine, refined in the light of Kant and Lachelier, leads the reflection to the point where knowledge is founded in reality, without being the measure of reality. Making an option leads from knowledge to being; being puts a seal to the analytical knowledge of the phenomena, that is, to the movement of the spirit which L'action has followed through its various stages. The vinculum now takes on a meaning on which, in turn, Blondel's personal faith throws light.
