| Summary: | The article at first highlights the profound debt of the treaty on revelation towards deism which in fact determined its rise and constitution. Subsequently the apologetic perspective of S. Clarke is presented above all in the Discourse which exemplifies this relationship and the risk of reducing revelation to a supplement of authority and certainty to rational truths. Finally, some points for reflection are presented that highlight the risks about the possibility of safeguarding the irreducibility of revelation to reason alone as above all to its contents. L'articolo in un primo momento evidenzia il profondo debito del trattato sulla rivelazione verso il deismo che di fatto ne determinò il sorgere e la costituzione. Successivamente viene presentata la prospettiva apologetica di S. Clarke soprattutto nel Discourse in cui si esemplifica questo rapporto e il rischio di ridurre la rivelazione ad un supplemento di autorità e certezza alle verità razionali. Infine sono presentati alcuni spunti di riflessione che mettono in luce il rischio circa la possibilità di salvaguardare l'irriducibilità della rivelazione alla sola ragione quanto soprattutto ai suoi contenuti. |
