Des recherches plus approfondies conduisent à d'autres conclusions: le codex de Capestrano ne contient pas une copie du Defensorium, mais de l'Appellatio Monacensis de Michel de Césène. La présente contribution décrit le codex de Capestrano et fournit une transcription de certaines de ses parties. Pour avoir plus de certitudes sur la polémique michéliste contre Jean XXII, il faudra attendre la publication complète de l'édition en cours. Ms. XXI of the Capestrano convent had been thought to contain a 'later version' of the Defensorium contra errores Iohannis Papae (M. Dykmans; cfr. C. Schmitt). Latest research, however, reveals something quite different: the Capestran Codex, instead of containing a version of the Defensorium, actually contains the Appellario Monacensis of Michele da Cesena. The present contribution gives a description of the Codex and adds, at least for some parts of it, a transcription. Greater clarity regarding Michel's polemic against John XXII will be possible once sources currently in preparation come to light. |
