Rispetto al segno sensibile che lo rappresenta, il simbolo possiede un surplus di significati che lo rende irriducibile al contenuto semantico delle parole. E il linguaggio simbolico, utilizzando termini evocatori di stati d'animo, trasmette veritá esistenziali in modo semplice e immediato, suscita emozioni e ricordi, ispira sentimenti. Adjacent to verbal language, founded on syntactic rules, there exists an analogical-evocative language established on symbols. In respect to the sensible sign, which it represents, the symbol possesses a surplus of significances which does not allow it to be reduced to the semantic content of words. Moreover, symbolic language, utilizing evocative terms of various states of mind, transmits essential truths in a simple and immediate way, provoking emotions and memories and inspires sentiments. |
