Après un passage au petit séminaire de Pons, il obtient une bourse pour le lycée Charlemagne. Il s'éloigne alors du catholicisme, fait des rencontres protestantes déterminates et devient un républicain convaincu. Son baccalauréat en poche, il commence une carrière de journaliste et prend la tête de divers journaux républicains dans lesquels il exprime sa vision de la République. Il se rapproche progressivement du protestantisme et s'y rattache formellement dès 1874, même si sa conversion véritable ne date que de 1878. Eugène Réveillaud (1851-1935), radical member ot the National Assembly for Saint Jean d'Angély from 1902 to 1912 and senator from 1912 to 1921, came from a catholic family of teachers from Charente-Inférieure. After studying at the secondary school in Pons, he obtained a scolarship to the Lycée Charlemagne. Henceforth he moved away from Catholicism, hade some decisive meetings with Protestants and became a convinced republican. After he graduated from high school, he started a career as a journalist, and directed various republican newspapers in which he expressed his vision of the Republic. He moved closer and closer to Protestantism and eventually became a member of the Reformed Church as early as 1874, even though he only really became converted in 1878. Eugène Réveillaud (1851-1935) war von 1902 bis 1912 radikalsozialistischer Abgeordneter von Saint-Jean d'Angély und von 1912 bis 1921 Mitglied des Senats. Er entstammt einer katholischen Lehrerfamilie aus der Charente-Inférieure. Nach dem Besuch des niederen Seminars von Pons erhält er ein Stipendium für das Gymnasium Charlemagne. Dabei entfernt er sich zunehmend vom Katholizismus, macht entscheidende Begegnungen mit Protestanten und wird ein uberzeugter Anhänger der Republik. Nach dem Abitur wird er Journalist und leitet verschiedene republikanische Zeitungen, in denen er seine Auffassung über die Republik veröffentlicht. Er nähert sich zunehmend dem Protestantismus an und tritt 1874 über, während seine wirkliche kunversion im Jahr 1878 stattgefunden hat. |
