Cet article relate les conditions de son élaboration et analyse la stratégie éditoriale du petit groupe d'amis protestants de Galilée qui s'en est chargé, révélant une partiapation active du savant toscan à cette entreprise. En soustrayant ainsi cet ouvrage à la censure romaine et en créant les conditions d'une diffusion plus large encore, ces citoyens de la République des lettres offrent à Galilée l'opportunité de prendre une rapide revanche sur le sort que lui ont réservé ses « ennemis » à Rome. Barely two years after Galileo was condemned and his Dialogo sopra i due massimi sistemi del mondo banned (1633), a latin translation of this work was published in Strasbourg : the Systema oesmicum. This article expkins how it was possible and analyses the editorial strategy set up by a small group of Galilo's protestant friends. It reveals that the Italian scientist himself phyed an active role. Therefore this work was withdrawn from the Roman censorship and the groundwork prepared for a still broader circulation. These dtizens of the Respublica literaria thus offered Galileo the opportunity to quickly take revenge on his « ennemies » in Rome. Kaum zwei Jahren nachdem Galilei und sein Dialogo sopra i due massimi sistemi del mondo verurteilt wurden (1633), erschien eine lateinische Übersetzung dieses Werks in Straßburg : das Systema Cosmicum. In dieser Abhandlung werden die Umstände saner Verarbeitung behandelt. Weiter wird die Strategie der Veröffentlichung analysiert, die von der mit Galilei befreundeten kleinen protestantischen Gruppe übernommen wurde. Es ist offensichtlich, daß der toskanische Gelehrte activ daran beteiligt war. Indem diese Cives der Respublica literaria dieses Werk der romamschen Zensur entziehen und somit die Bedingungen seiner noch größeren Verbreitung gestalten, bieten sie Galilei die Möglichkeit an, sich gegenüber seinen « Feinden » in Rom schnell zu revanchieren. |
