Description
Summary:« Colladon's Three Lists » is a revised edition of three manuscripts in the Bibliothèque Publique et Universitaire in Geneva, which are records of the requests for pastors which were made by reformed churches in France to the ministers in Geneva during the time of Calvin, and of the men who were despatched from Geneva in response to them. The records were probably composed by Nicolas Colladon, at one time Secretary of the Company of Pastors in the city. The text is comprehensively annotated: every effort has been made to correlate these lists with other contemporary primary sources. In addition, in a brief introduction, an explanation is offered of the way in which these three lists are related to one another. It is argued that the shortest list (The Aide-Mémoire) dates from November 1561; the next (The Catalogue) from the turn of 1561-1562; and the longest (The Inventory) from early 1562.
