Description
Summary:The orientation towards the » faith of Jesus « itself is of central importance in the work of Raymund Schwager. In the perspective of Norbert Baumert’s Paulus exegesis, its significance is analyzed as a double relationship: In the faith, i.e. in the surrendering trust of Jesus, the trust of God in the trust of Jesus comes towards us, so that we ourselves are enabled to trust man and God. This perspective, however, would have to transform the anthropological basis of Schwager. The original sacrifice would then not be killing, but rather a grateful return to those powers that make life possible, or a concerned submission to those powers that threaten life. Theologically, in view of the » fides Christi «, mimetic anthropology would then have to be interpreted from a more comprehensive theology of the love of God. In life itself lies that primal gift that carries and makes culture possible. Desiring rivalry, while contaminating this experience, always presupposes it. Therefore, it cannot be seen as original and the origin of all culture. Perhaps this dimension remains closed for Schwager because he has always approached individual mysticism with reservation, even though it could never be circumvented soteriologically.
