Description
Summary:According to Kathrin Koslickí’s Form — Matter — Substance, substances are complex unities composed of matter and form aspects. Both matter and form are entities which, as proper parts, comprise the unity of substances. In my commentary I aim to criticize this version of »mereological« hylomorphism : It denies classical independence-criteria for substancehood and assumes a problematic unity-criterion. It is furthermore committed to a questionable »bottom-up« understanding of reality.
