Summary: | This article takes a closer look at how Hugo Rahner relates history and dogma in his »Theology of Proclamation« (Theologie der Verkündigung). It focusses on Rahner’s ecclesiology as well as on his theology of the images of the church, which he first develops in this »Theology of Proclamation« and then expands in his writings on the »Symbols of the Church« (Symbole der Kirche). Although Rahner’s ideas were received and further developed in the texts of the Second Vatican Council (especially Lumen Genitum, Chapter 1) we need to critically reread them from today’s perspective. |
