Description
Summary:This paper proposes a re-examination of the accepted rendering of the title given in the manuscript to the last 20 psalms of the 2nd part of the Manichaean Psalmbook, the Psalms of Thomas. It is argued that this Thomas cannot be identified either with the homonymous Mani’s disciple or with the Apostle Thomas, and a new interpretation of the Coptic word thōm is offered.
