Description
Summary:This paper presents some basic methodological issues at stake when explaining and supporting the process of studying and publishing the so called «collection du Pseudo-Abdias ». Where its common name since the 16th century makes it sound easy to master, the collection is indeed way much more difficult to handle. This paper first emphasizes how crucial it is to start from the original manuscripts, and offers the results of their study. Then decisions and choices have to be defined as clearly as possible, with in perspective, the process of studying the collection. The last part of the research points at difficulties specific to the « notices », and raises the issues of the order in which the « notices » dedicated to the twelve apostles appear in the selected manuscripts.
