| Summary: | This article is about the social action developed by Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (UCKG). The charity of this church will be analyzed considering a specific program located at Belo Horizonte - the A Gente da Comunidade. Taking into account the way this church organizes its philanthropy in that location, it is noted the requirement of a “certificate of righteousness”, which permits the access within the social actions and the construction of a disciplined entrepreneur ethos as a result of this mode of selection. Understanding the social practice through Belo Horizonte example, it is possible to see that the charity of Universal Church is organized just by the successful names of social projects. This allows the development of an improvised and incipient social action, which however structure members’ mobility in the church. |
