Description
Summary:As a category of theology, the essence of the Reformation stands out due to its unerring view of the relationship between God and man. The particulae exclusivae of solus Christus, sola gratia, sola fide and sola scriptura are at the heart of this essence, its characteristics and are at the same time the criteria for the church's turning to its origins in the justifying acts of God. It is sensible to be sceptical of a continuing modern revision of the essence of the Reformation, which we encounter in Neo-Protestantism. The categorial position of the essence of the Reformation must not be abandoned, since it is this position alone which enables us again and again to have a new, clear view of God turning to us in Christ.
