Description
Summary:In the collection of poems 'Die Schöpfung' by the Jewish poet Alfred Mombert (1872—1942), which was published in 1897, there is a short poem with a baffling and confusing first line: 'Gott ist vom Schöpferstuhl gefallen' (God has fallen out of the creator's chair). In his detailed interpretation, which includes a look at Mombert's complete works and at their hermeneutical and poetological features, the author asks if and to what extent Mombert's poem anticipates poetically a postmetaphysical or a posttheistic mention of God.
