Summary: | In this essay, whose aim is to clarify the constituent prerequisites for contemporary biblical theology, the author argues that biblical theology must not only reflect the diversity of biblical writings in regard to their coherence, but must also bear in mind that the Christian Bible consists of two parts, the first of which, the 'Old Testament', is identical with the Tanakh, the Bible of Israel. This double function has consequences for the Jewish-Christian dialogue. |
