Summary: | Delineating recent tendencies to overestimate the 'empirical sciences' in homiletical theory after the 'linguistic turn', the article recalls the eschatological impulses of the early Dialectical Theology. Based upon Wittgenstein's and Barth's interpretation of reality as 'facticity' and of humankind and universe as being restricted to finitude, it reveals the roots of preaching in the experience of being 'crucified with Christ' and in the expectation of a reality transcending humankind and universe. |
