Summary: | This article presents the results of an investigation that focuses on the forms of intolerance against the devotion to Niño Fidencio. Its general objective is to analyze the discourse produced about this devotion in news sites, both from national scope and from the Coahuila State, to detect the notes in which it receives a de-crediting treatment. The final purpose of the study is to reconstruct the deteriorated image of the devotion spread in these notes. Based on the review carried out, I found that in the notes of the news sites from Coahuila State, the treatment of devotion is discrediting in 32.87% of the cases, while in the national sites, in the 25 %. The image of the devotion diffused in those notes with negative treatment (28) is that of a deceptive, dangerous, irrational form of religiosity and for fanatical devotees, ignorant and without a will of their own. |
