After discussing the theological legitimacy of the question and drawing some initial conclusions – namely, that the Spirit proceeds from the Father to the Son, and then through the Son back to the Father – it discusses indications in the economy that conflict with these initial conclusions, and then proposes a resolution. It proposes that, by holding the Holy Spirit to be identical with the Spirit's very act of proceeding, and by understanding the Spirit's act of proceeding to be a circular movement from Father to Son and then back to the Father, the conflicting indications of the economy can be resolved. | ||
